📍 Recap of the 8th ASEAN Energy Outlook (AEO8) Country Visits    During January until March, the ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE) successfully conducted country visits agenda to each ASEAN Member State (AMS) to share initial AEO8 results and consult on the next ASEAN Plan of Action for Energy Cooperation Phase II: 2021-2025 (APAEC) cycle.    ACE sincerely extend our heartfelt gratitude for all the partners whose support was instrumental in making these country visits possible. 🌐 ASEAN Energy Data Highlights Did you know? From 2010 to 2019, only 15.8% of the development finance designated for energy-gender initiatives were deployed for renewable energy (RE) projects, while the majority were directed towards coal-fired power plants, electric power transmission and distribution in centralised grids. Gender Equality in ASEAN Energy booklet outlines the ASEAN region’s commitment to gender equality within the energy sector, recognizing the critical role of gender equality and women’s empowerment in achieving a peaceful, prosperous, and sustainable community. 🔗 Read more on ACE website: https://lnkd.in/geeWqAyg

Institute for Climate and Sustainable Cities and Forum for the Future conducted a situational analysis of the ecological and social impacts that may emerge with the scaling of renewable energy.
