Empowering Southeast Asia's Energy Transition Journey
เกี่ยวกับเรา
A primary objective of the CASE programme is to shift the energy sector narrative in Southeast Asia towards an evidence-based clean energy transition, with the aim to increase political ambition to comply with the Paris Agreement. SIPET is part of an effort by CASE to accomplish the shift of the energy sector narrative by supporting: (a) research and evidence, (b) transparency and mapping, (c) dialogue with non-energy sector stakeholders, (d) technical assistance on clean energy, and (e) promoting public discourse on the energy transition.

ICSC, together with the Global Shield against Climate Risks, the Department of Finance, and the Start Network, will host the Global Shield Against Climate Risks: Information Session for Countries in the Philippines, to be held at the Makati Diamond Residences on April 14, 2025. The #GlobalShield Against Climate Risks aims to strengthen the financial protection of climate-vulnerable economies through the increase and improvement of access to country-driven climate and disaster risk finance and insurance (#CDRFI) mechanisms. Civil society participation in the Global Shield and its processes is crucial to ensure that these mechanisms are inclusive, effective, and sustainable.

The Green Grids Initiative Asia-Pacific Annual Dialogue: Advancing Regional Grid Integration ⚡🌏 On 12–13 March 2025, representatives from CASE joined the 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗚𝗿𝗶𝗱𝘀 𝗜𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 (𝗚𝗚𝗜) 𝗔𝘀𝗶𝗮-𝗣𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘂𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗸𝗼𝗸, hosted by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP). The event brought together over 60 key stakeholders — including multilateral organisations, governments, financial institutions, the private sector, and think tanks — to explore solutions for enhancing regional transmission grids and advancing energy connectivity across Asia-Pacific. 🌐 CASE contributed to discussions on regional energy integration, multilateral power trade, and sustainable grid development. Key topics included: ⚡ Mobilising support for priority transmission projects ⚡ Exploring project finance solutions and capacity-building opportunities ⚡ Addressing supply chain challenges in transmission infrastructure (including subsea cables) 🔑 Key takeaways from the dialogue: 𝟭. 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗖𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 – New approaches are essential for unlocking complex transmission projects and addressing curtailment issues in renewable energy deployment. 𝟮. 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗹𝘆 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗙𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗧𝗼𝗽 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 – Reliable and sustainable supply chains are key to making large-scale transmission projects viable and bankable. 𝟯. 𝗔 𝗪𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗲-𝗼𝗳-𝗘𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗶𝘀 𝗡𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗱 – Effective collaboration between the public and private sectors is necessary to overcome barriers and maximise the benefits of grid integration. 💡 To support these efforts, three working groups were established to focus on: 🔹 Climate Finance for Grids 🔹 Financing Models for Grids 🔹 Building Stronger Supply Chains for Grid Expansion CASE’s work on regional grid integration, multilateral power trade, and transmission is part of our efforts under the ASEAN Power Grid-Advancement Programme (APG-AP). 👉 Learn more about this initiative, click https://lnkd.in/g786zGM6 📷 Green Grid Initiative (GGI) #CASEforSEA #EnergyTransition #GridIntegration #SustainableInfrastructure #ASEANPowerGrid Green Grids Initiative (GGI) United Nations ESCAP Southeast Asia Energy Transition Partnership UNOPS ASEAN Centre for Energy
